1/4 cup water
1/4 cup maple syrup
Simmer over med-low heat while cooking the toast.
French Toast:
4 eggs
1/3 cup egg nog
1/2 tsp each, cinnamon and nutmeg
4 slices stale bread (or toast it very lightly to dry it out)

Mix the eggs, nog, and spices thoroughly, and soak the bread in the batter. Then fry the bread in butter until the bread is cooked through.
